THE PERFECT HEIST: PREVENTING THE THEFT OF A CENTURY
On 19 October 2025, the world’s largest museum was the victim of the worst heist in its history; around 9:30 a.m., a team of four thieves dressed as construction workers snuck into the Galerie d’Apollon at the Louvre in Paris and used disc cutters to steal €88 million worth of 19th century French crown jewels. A scramble to evacuate the building and recover the lost pieces immediately ensued.
Today is 17 October 2025, and you’re part of the team responsible for security at the Louvre. You’ve been alerted about some major security concerns within the museum, but have tough decisions to make about what to prioritize and how to modernize: Should you focus on acquiring new art or enhancing security measures in the budget? How should you go about addressing security concerns and making updates?
What you do today could determine the fate of the Louvre’s collections. Will you be able to ensure the security of the world’s most prized art pieces before it’s too late?
