BALANCING THE ABSENCE OF TITANS

The Titans rose up against humanity and the Gods. In what would be known as the Titanomachy, the ten year war was finally over. However, the Greek Gods aren’t able to rest yet. Zeus has summoned all the Greek Gods to Mount Olympus in order to determine the fate of the Cosmos.

Now that the Titans are imprisoned in Tartarus, there are two questions that need to be answered: who will run the Underworld, and how can the Gods maintain their authority. Delegates in this committee will assume the role of Gods and Goddesses to address these issues. Topic A will focus on who will assume authority of the Underworld, and how it might be run with the addition of Tartarus. Topic B will challenge delegates to deter demigods, gigantes, mythical beasts, from allying with the Titans, or forming a faction of their own. Success in Olympian politics requires delegates to consider their mythological past and form new connections to resolve the conflict.

Delegates will be expected to navigate their roles within a hybrid specialized committee. Debate will alternate between a traditional general assembly format and elements taken from crisis committees. Delegates should be prepared to write directives and respond to crisis updates.
