THE AD-HOC OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
Ad Hoc of the Secretary General is an advanced Crisis Committee that has a surprise topic which is released on the day of UMUNC VII. This Ad Hoc combines fast-paced and exciting challenges with elements of creativity, with the topic selected by the Secretary General of UMUNC VII.
Delegates in this committee are expected to have experience with Crisis, and are able to engage in debate and think on their feet. For this iteration of UMUNC, this Ad Hoc will push delegates to collaborate while reacting to exciting updates. Will you accept the challenge of Ad Hoc?

Shreyes Varde is a senior studying Computer Science and Business Analytics. He is from New Jersey and has participated in Model UN since 8th grade! He’s chaired UMUNC for three years and is excited to close out his Model UN career chairing the Ad-Hoc committee! Outside of UMUNC, Shreyes is a member of the QUEST Honors Program and a teaching asssitant for a computer science. When he’s not competing, you can find Shreyes watching basketball with friends, playing poker with brothers at his fraternity house, and trying (and failing) to learn close-up magic. Shreyes is extremely excited to see all the creative ideas delegates come up with!
Malhar Mandsaurwale is a senior studying Architecture and Real Estate Development. He is from Howard County, MD, and has been involved in Model UN for six years! This is his fourth year chairing a UMUNC committee, typically doing historical crisis committees. Outside of UMUNC, Malhar is involved in a professional business fraternity, student government, and was formerly a Resident Assistant. In his free time, Malhar enjoys photography, watching movies, playing soccer, and hiking. Malhar is super excited to see the fun and creative twists that come out of this Ad Hoc committee!
Arnav Siddamsettiwar is a freshman Public Health Science major on the Pre-Medical track. He is from New Jersey, just like Shreyes, and has been doing Model UN since high school. Arnav is ecstatic to take on the role of Crisis Director for UMUNC VII. In his free time he works as a Firefighter/EMT at the College Park Volunteer Fire Department. Outside of UMUNC, you can find him playing sports, watching movies, and trying out new coffee shops. Arnav is excited to see how the delegates choose to portray their characters and take risks!
